JulES Bradley

I'm Jules (she/her) and I'm a documentary artist, audio producer facilitator, and sometimes farmer based in Brooklyn and Maine. In my work I play with rhythmic discomfort, sound and silence, and softly held stories.
Though I've recently been branching into documentary work across mediums, I've spend a lot of time working on radio and podcasts, often centering stories of environmental justice. I've worked along the entirety of the audio production process, from reporting to sound design.

Currently, I'm a fellow in Union Doc's Collaborative Documentary Studio and am working on several short films exploring discard, value, and trash in New York City.
Most recently, I was a senior creative producer at Vox Media. At Vox, I produced a season Into the Mix, by Ben & Jerry's and am currently working as a story and creative producer on various projects. I also develop and facilitate courses for the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and AIR's Sound Path. Previously, I co-created and produced Inherited, an multi-genre youth climate storytelling podcast with YR Media and Critical Frequency.
In my artistic practice I'm drawn to mundanity, playfulness, layered geographies, and the fabrics of community. I relish curiosity, play, and observation. I'm presently in post production for my first short documentary film.

I grew up in Pennsylvania and studied anthropology at Brown University and radio at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. I've spent time as a farmer, a path currently on pause. I play the fiddle and like to ride my very colorful bike.
